laser stripping

An indispensable prerequisite for successful and lasting welded and adhesive connections is a flawless surface. However, components are often covered with layers of paint and functional layers before they can be connected. This is where the laser comes into play: As a non-contact tool, it frees the components from the functional layers in the shortest possible time - but only where, for example, connections are to be made or the functional layer is no longer needed. This is done using high-power pulses that allow the extremely thin layers to evaporate without affecting the actual component. This means that subsequent processes run more evenly, faster and are absolutely reproducible. The connections are cleaner and more durable.

Cleaning surfaces using lasers can be easily integrated into industrial series production because data can be easily transferred via interfaces. We at TAS GmbH offer the service for cleaning and removing paint using robotic systems.

What advantages does laser paint removal offer?

Environmentally friendly
When removing paint with a laser, no additional blasting agents or chemical substances are required, which would have to be laboriously and expensively disposed of.

Accurate and repeatable
The laser enables controlled and precise removal of the paint in the micrometer range - easily reproducible and extremely accurate.

Contactless
Laser paint removal is almost wear-free because no mechanical tools are worn out.

Gentle on the material
In contrast to alternative processes such as sandblasting, the laser can work gently without damaging the surface of the component. Plus, it doesn't leave any residue behind.
